Men's Sunglasses Buying Guide

Sunglasses are one of the few things you wear that not only look cool but also give you some protection. But how do you know if you're buying a pair of men's sunglasses that will not only protect your style but also your eyes? This men's sunglasses buying guide has the information you need to figure out how to buy men's sunglasses that will flatter your face as well as preserve your vision.

What you need to know

The right frames for your face

As you're shopping for a new pair of men's sunglasses, the most important thing is staying true to your personal style. But if you also choose frames that look good on you, then you're sure to feel good in them every time you wear them. Consider your face shape before you buy sunglasses; frames that are the opposite shape as your face will look best.
Square
A face with a strong jaw line and broad forehead will look good with rounded sunglasses that contrast with your face shape. This doesn't mean you necessarily want to wear perfectly round, 1960s frames, unless you're into that look. If you prefer something subtler, shop for sunglasses that have rounded bottom edges with top edges that are fairly straight across.

Triangle
A face with a narrow chin and wide forehead will look best with sunglasses that are heavier toward the bottom edge, like aviator sunglasses. Aviators are a classic style and are available in metal frames as well as plastic, so you have many to choose from.

Oblong
A long, narrow face can be balanced out by a pair of wraparound sunglasses. The strong, wide line of this style shortens an oblong face, and you'll have the added benefit of a modern style that is as perfect for sports as it is for lounging by the pool.

Round
A round face can appear leaner with a pair of square or rectangular sunglasses. If you have a round face, you will want to be extra sure that your sunglasses are the right width because if they are too small, they could make your face appear heavy.

Oval
An oval face is slightly narrower at the jaw line than at the temples, creating a shape that is flattered by just about any frames. You can choose fashion sunglasses or sport sunglasses if you have an oval face.

How to use the measurements

The measurements given in the product description are valuable when you can't try on the sunglasses you are considering. You'll want to find a pair that is the same width as the widest part of your face.
The measurements are often given in three numbers, measured in millimeters. The first number is the width of one lens, the second number is the width of the bridge over the nose, and the third number is the length of one arm. The measurement may look something like this: 56 - 18 - 130.
To find your size, get a measuring tape or ruler and stand in front of a mirror. First measure the widest part of your face. Then measure the width of the bridge of your nose to get the middle number. Subtract the width of the bridge of your nose from the total width, and then divide the number in half to get the lens width.
You can also measure the length from the sides of your eyes to your ears for the third number, but this number is not as essential because you can usually have the arms adjusted by an optician to get the fit best over your ears.
Once you have your size, you can find sunglasses that fit you, even when you are shopping online. Remember, however, that a millimeter isn't very much, so you don't have to worry if a pair you like is one or two millimeters different than the measurement you came up with.

Eye protection

You're relying on your sunglasses to protect your vision from the sun's ultraviolet rays, so make sure that you choose a pair that has 95 to 99 percent UVB protection and at least 60 percent UVA protection. Most sunglasses these days have full UV protection, but you'll always want to double check to be sure.
The colors of lenses
While the color of your sunglasses is mostly about your personal style, the lens color you choose can affect the way you see colors while you're wearing them, so you'll want to consider this while you're shopping.
Grey and green: Grey and green lenses make colors appear cooler than they are, but they are the least likely to affect your vision. Sunglass lenses in these colors are best for driving.
Brown and amber: Brown and amber lenses create a high contrast in colors because they block out blue. These colors make excellent sports sunglasses.
Purple, red and blue: Fashion colors can affect the way you see colors the most, so they aren't recommended for wear when you need your vision the most. Save these sunglasses for times when you are just hanging out in the sun.

Common questions about men's sunglasses
Should I choose metal frames or plastic frames?
Unless you settle for cheap sunglasses, either type of sunglass frame should last a long time as long as you treat your sunglasses well. For example, if you stash them in your back pocket, make sure to take them out before you sit down; otherwise, it won't matter what material your frames are made from.
I want a pair of sunglasses that will be in style for a long time. What should I choose?
For sunglasses that will be in style in the future, just look to the past. Retro styles have been around for years because they are timeless. When you want that kind of staying power in your look, avoid novelty sunglasses and go with aviator sunglasses with metal frames or Wayfarer-inspired sunglasses in black or tortoiseshell.
What are the benefits of polarized lenses?
Polarized sunglasses block out the glare that happens when sunlight reflects off flat surfaces, like water or the street. For sports sunglasses, polarized lenses are one of the best choices because keeping out that glare while you are boating, running or cycling can help maximize your performance.

How to Keep Your Winter Coat Looking Like New

Woman in clean, white coat

Things You Need:

  • Lint roller or brush
  • Clothes shaver
  • Garment bags
  • Dry cleaning kit
  • Acid-free paper
  • Cedar hangers or cedar sachets
If you live in a cold climate, you need to prepare for the chilly season. There are many different types of winter coats, and you will want to be sure that they are properly taken care of. Many people like to replace their winter coats every year; however, if you have a classic style, you may want to wear your coat for several years. Whether you have a quilted down-filled coat, a parka or a wool coat, there are certain steps to follow when taking care of men's coats and women's coats to keep them looking like new.

Keeping Your Winter Coat Clean:

  1. If your winter coat is a wool blend or a wool-like fabric, start with a lint roller or brush. Wool coats pick up particles that these items can easily remove, such as human or pet hair and lint. Just roll the lint roller over the fabric or brush it with the lint brush. If you don't have either one of these tools, create a loop with some tape, keeping the sticky side out. Make the loop large enough to wrap around your hand loosely. You can then pick up particles and hair on women's coats or men's coats by rolling the tape along the fabric with your hand.
  2. Remove loose threads on your winter coat. Cutting these excess threads will help to minimize the lint that your coat picks up as well. Use the clothes shaver, which trims fuzz and lint from fabric, to remove loose threads and those hard-to-reach hair and lint particles from your pea coat or cashmere coat, especially when it has begun pilling.
  3. Cut the costs of dry-cleaning, which many winter coats require. To avoid those high-priced dry cleaning bills, you can purchase a dry-cleaning kit. These are very easy and convenient. Using the kit takes less time than washing a load of clothes. First, spot treat any visible stains on the coat with the included spot-treating solution. Next, place your coat and one of the towelettes in one of the bags included in the kit. Put it in the dryer and set the dryer to medium or high heat for about 30 minutes. Promptly remove the coat and hang it or lay it flat to dry, as it will be a little moist from the solution on the towelette. Long winter coats or rain coats may take a bit longer to dry.
  4. Use cedar hangers when hanging your winter jacket. Cedar keeps the moths away without the smell of mothballs. If you do not have cedar hangers, you can use cedar sachets. Line your closet with them or simply place one on the hanger with your coat. When storing your winter clothing for the season, you may also want to consider getting a garment bag to help keep lint, hair, dust and other particles from collecting on it. These come in a variety of sizes and are easy to find. Stuff coat sleeves with acid-free paper to help prevent permanent creases from forming during the off-season.

Tips on Buying Casual Dresses

Buying casual dresses online
Whether you're looking for a dress to wear around town or just to the workplace, casual dresses will keep you comfortable and still look polished enough for an evening with friends or a business meeting. Finding flattering casual dresses can be simplified with just a few shopping steps. Read on for tips on buying casual dresses that fit well and look great.

Shopping for Casual Dresses:

  1. Buy a sheath dress for a polished look. A classic sheath dress, especially a black casual dress, can take you from the office to an outdoor dinner to an evening on the town with friends. Look for a stylish linen sheath dress you can layer beneath a cardigan or blazer for a formal business meeting. Add a white belt and white heels to a black casual dress for a '60s vibe perfect for almost any occasion.
  2. Find a knit dress for laid-back days. Buy a flowing knit dress in a wrap style or find a stylish A-line dress that flares from the bodice for a look that flatters every figure. Make sure you purchase a size that skims over curves instead of hugging problem areas; an A-line dress will draw attention to your waist and camouflage wide hips and a curvy tummy. Purchase a knit dress in a color that complements your skin tone.
  3. Purchase sundresses for warm weather. When it's summertime, you can stay cool by wearing sundresses in vibrant colors. Among the most versatile women's casual dresses, sundresses can be dressed up with heels and glamorous accessories or serve as stylish long casual dresses for the beach when you add flip flops and sunglasses. Find women's casual dresses, especially sundresses, in floral or geometric prints for a fun warm-weather look.
  4. Get long casual dresses for every day. Whether you like empire waist dresses in a maxi style or long casual dresses that fall straight from the waist, these styles are comfortable and perfect for a casual day spent running errands or even hanging out with friends. Find a slightly shorter dress to wear if you're petite, as a long dress that skims your ankles can overwhelm your frame and make you appear smaller. Empire waist dresses that hit you at about the knees are flattering and will accentuate your shape.

Tips on Choosing Holiday Clothing

Couple celebrating the holiday
Dressing up for holiday parties can be one of the fun parts of the season. Why not make a bang this year with classic holiday clothing and accessories? The following tips will help you find the most flattering holiday clothing to make your family parties and seasonal events go even more smoothly.

Holiday Clothing Tips:

  1. Choose festive prints and color schemes for fun. The trick to looking polished for a holiday party is to wear dressy pieces, such as metallic knits and cashmere sweaters, which are not necessarily related to a specific holiday. However, a casual holiday party or dress-up-for-work day can call for a Santa-stuck-in-a-chimney tie or holiday sweaters with snowmen, reindeer or blinking lights on them.
  2. Make sure your clothes fit. If you're attending a Thanksgiving get-together or New Year's bash where you might overindulge, comfortable holiday clothing is a must. Oversized clothing can sometimes make you look larger than you are, but holiday sweaters in dark colors are both slimming and comfortable. Pair them either with flattering skirts or dress pants. Dark wash jeans can also be appropriate, depending on how formal the party is.
  3. Look for sparkly details. The holidays are a time when you can pull off dressier looks, such as sequined cardigans, metallic knits and cashmere sweaters. You can also look for holiday cardigans with rhinestone buttons or satin button-ups to pair with dress pants or skirts.
  4. Go for the gold. Holiday occasions are perfect for wearing clothing, footwear and accessories in metallic shades. Gold heels add class to a black sequined cardigan or party dress. Silver necklaces and earrings also brighten up darker colors and add a festive touch.
  5. Throw on accessories. Even if your outfit is neutral, a black party dress looks stunning with a brightly-colored pashmina or shawl, and sparkly jewelry always adds a bit of glamour. Gold heels can accent red scarves, hats and gloves. Just be careful not to overwhelm your outfit with too many accessories, especially if they are bold. One statement piece is really all you need.

Tips on Dressing for Skiing

Man skiing downhill
Dressing for a skiing trip can be a bit daunting. You want to look good, but at the same time, it is more important to consider your health and safety while on the slopes. Finding ski clothing that will keep you warm while protecting your hands, feet, eyes and overall body is not an easy task. Double check your bags to ensure you've packed all of the most essential men's ski clothing and women's ski clothing.

Dressing for Skiing:

  1. Consider the climate. While you might think every ski climate is cold, nothing could be further from the truth. Some ski climates are warm and dry, meaning there isn't a lot of daily precipitation. In these instances, you'll want ski apparel that can keep you dry and insulated. In other areas, you'll find the weather is wet, with constant snow. If you ski in these areas, you'll want ski clothing that is not only warm but water-repellent or -resistant as well.
  2. Check underneath it all. Believe it or not, cotton undergarments are not the best for skiing. You'll want to find undergarments made out of fleece, wool, silk or polypropylene. These materials keep you warm and dry and do not absorb much water, if any, if you fall in the snow. Cotton materials, on the other hand, slowly absorb moisture, making them heavy, cold and uncomfortable.
  3. Pull out the pants. If you love skiing, you'll want to invest in a good pair of waterproof pants. They need to be large enough to fit over your ski boots and at the same time give you enough flexibility to bend at the knees and hips. Don't buy pants that are too tight. Women unable to find the right size in women's ski clothing, especially those who are very tall, can find longer and bigger pants in men's ski clothing.
  4. Slip into your socks. Make sure the socks you wear on your skiing trip fit your feet well. You'll want them to be made out of a stretchable material so that they will not slide down into your boot and around your feet. Socks that do not fit properly not only make your feet cold but also bunch up and give you blisters, something you can't deal with while on the slopes.
  5. Zip up your jacket. Your skiing jacket should be waterproof and windproof. The best type of jacket for skiing is one that has a removable inner lining because you can alter it to suit your needs on both cold and warmer ski days. Jackets are an important part of ski clothing.
  6. Protect your head and hands. You'll want to take special care to keep your hands, head and ears covered while skiing. The cold air can quickly creep up on you, and those exposed areas of your body can quickly develop frostbite. Buy waterproof gloves to keep your hands warm, and make sure you have a snug hat or headband to cover your ears. The ski clothing section often offers jackets with built-in hoods, as well as fleece and knit caps.
  7. Here comes the sun. Buy a pair of sunglasses or ski goggles and wear them all day. These are essential for skiing, because they will protect your eyes not only from UV rays and blinding spots on the snow, but from wind and blowing snow as well.

How to Choose a Cocktail Dress for Plus-size Women

Woman in colorful cocktail dress

Things You Need:

  • Fitted undergarments
  • Slip
  • Accessories
You have plans for a special night out, but you don't have a thing to wear. No problem; wear a cocktail dress. Plus-size cocktail dresses are available in lots of styles and colors, and they can fit and flatter women of all shapes and sizes. Choosing the right dress will not only flatter your figure and make you look amazing, but it will also increase your confidence and make you the belle of any ball.

Choosing a Plus-size Dress:

  1. Decide on the feature you want to emphasize. Do you want to show off your great legs? Choose a dress that hits right above the knee. Do you have a nice collarbone? A V-neck will emphasize this feature. Do you have narrow wrists? Choose a dress with three-quarter length sleeves. At the same time, decide what your problem areas are and determine a party dress that will de-emphasize them.
  2. Determine where you will wear this dress. Do you have an event in mind, such as a wedding or an office holiday party? The more formal the event, the less skin you will want to reveal. To get the most wear out of your dress, pick a classic, conservative style that works well at all occasions, such as a boat-neck knee-length dress.
  3. Purchase the proper foundation garment. Nothing makes an amazing cocktail dress look worse than a bra strap popping out or bumps and bulges showing because the wearer did not buy the proper undergarments. If you are wearing a strapless piece, buy a strapless bra. For tighter, fitted dresses, consider purchasing a body suit. Anything skimming the body demands a foundation garment that will slim your waist and thighs.
  4. Choose the style. An A-line skirt hitting right below the knee is universally flattering on plus-size women. Empire waists emphasize a woman's slimmest body part. Halter dresses draw attention to the upper portion of a woman's body and emphasize her face.
  5. Choose a fabric. Flowing fabrics that drape around the body work best for curvier girls. Think about a soft satin or silk cocktail dress. Steer clear of stiff fabrics, although fitted bodices can be very flattering if the skirt is fuller.
  6. Add accessories to complete the look. Pick one statement piece, such as a bold clutch or an elegant pair of earrings. Accessories can also draw attention to your best features or your problem areas, so select them carefully. If you have a wide face, stay away from overpowering earrings or a choker. Keep necklaces simple and small to draw eyes away from the bust area.

Cocktail Dress Tips:

  1. A great pair of heels is a cocktail dress's most important accessory. It's hard to go wrong with black heels, or you could try a pair in a nude color to elongate your legs.
  2. Add a clutch bag in a coordinating color or choose one in a bright color to add a pop to your look.

    How to Choose Ski Pants

    Share
    Ski pants
A good pair of ski pants can mean the difference between a fun, comfortable day on the mountain or a cold and wet skiing experience. While many snow pants are marketed as waterproof, knowing what to look for when choosing ski pants will help you find quality men's pants and bibs and women's pants and bibs. You'll reap the rewards next time you hit the slopes in your new ski clothing.

    Instructions:

    1. Choose pants that are made out of nylon or polyester. The highest quality women's ski pants and men's ski pants are made from nylon or polyester microfibers. This lightweight fabric whisks water away from the skin and is woven tightly enough to prevent wind from penetrating the ski pants. Nylon ski pants are also resistant to ripping.
    2. Make sure the ski pants you purchase have been treated with a waterproof coating. The best women's ski pants and men's ski pants feature coatings that both protect the wearer from water and allow the fabric to "breathe." Ski clothing with this coating is durable and warm as well. Snow pants labeled as water-repellent or water-resistant are also an excellent choice. Water-resistant skiing equipment will protect you from getting wet in all but extreme conditions, but perspiration will not evaporate easily.
    3. Look for ski pants that have a layer of insulation, such as down or fleece. This layer is important in skiing equipment for keeping warm and wicking moisture away from the skin. Look for reinforcement in the knees and seat, as these areas are flexed constantly when skiing.
    4. Decide which options are important to you based on your skiing habits. Some pants fit tightly and look sleek and are usually designed for skiing at high speeds. Other ski accessories include pockets, which are handy for carrying keys or hand warmers, and elastic waistbands, which are often more comfortable than fitted pants. If you ski in deep snow, choose ski accessories such as gaiters at the bottom of the pants, which extend to cover the top of the boot and prevent snow from entering the pants.

    Tips on Buying Ski Jackets

    Share
    Skier in red ski jacket
A big part of a fun day on the ski slopes is being comfortable. If your ski jacket isn't keeping you dry or warm, you won't have as much fun skiing. A good ski jacket should be versatile so you can adjust to the ever-changing conditions on the mountain.

    Buying Ski Jackets:

    1. Buy a ski jacket that can adapt to conditions. It can be tough to know what the weather will be like at the resort, and in the mountains, the weather can change quickly. Having a ski jacket that can change with the weather conditions will keep you in the right temperature range. Pit zips allow quick and easy ventilation to keep you from overheating, and by being located in the arm pits, they won't significantly expose you to falling snow. A zip-out insulating liner will make your ski jacket a lot more versatile for vacations where you might not know what the weather will be like. And you'll be able to use the same jacket for winter and spring skiing.
    2. Get a jacket that looks good. The way your ski jacket looks shouldn't be the most important factor in buying a ski jacket, but you should like the way your jacket looks. You can find a simple solid-color ski jacket or one in a bold pattern and everything in between to match your style.
    3. Look for some extra features. A powder skirt is a nice addition, even in men's ski jackets. The powder skirt is an interior feature that holds snug to your waist, keeping snow from coming up inside your jacket in a fall. A pass holder shows off your ski pass without having the lift ticket flapping around in the wind. Interior pockets are nice for keeping your camera or a snack warm, and large exterior pockets are nice for storing warmer ski gloves or a balaclava should the weather be colder than you expected.

    Got questions about fire spinning?

    Where to shop?

If you are looking for all around spinning and fire related items I highly recommend

They have an awesome selection of all kids of items. including led poi sets, and practice fire sets and actual fire sets. They also have a long list of videos to help you learn moves. the videos are all sorted from beginner to advanced.

Another great site for all sorts of abstract fire spinning equipment is

They have great quality items. i still have and use my first set i got from them over a year ago and ive spun 100s of times.

You dont always have to buy your first set. Its actually not very hard to make. most of the poi set are just comprised of Kevlar rope and simple knots which you can find parts lists and instructions for online.

    What to wear?

near wear anything that is baggy or wool. you want cloths that hug your body so whatever you are swinging wont get caught in it. avoid wearing any hair spray or hair gel unless you want you head to explode into flames. You could where a beanie to protect your hair.
I recommend something like slim fit jeans  and a tight T-shirt (if any shirt at all) I recommend wearing Kevlar sleeves. you can find them at anywhere that sells welding equipment.

    Where you can learn?

    Me!!!

I will soon be opening up a school for lessons as well as i will have a sight open within a month with video tutorials.

Until then id recommend finding places online that offer help. or finding videos online.
